book-review-reading-blog
Welcome to Amy's Book Obsession. Just in case the name of the blog didn't make this point ... I love all things books and reading. This blog began as a place for me to keep track of the books that I read as well as my reviews of those books. I've recently decided to add more content to make this more than 'just' a review blog. Although there will definitely be lots of reviews since I review almost every book I read here on the blog.

My name is Amy and I live in Richmond, VA. I was born and raised in the RVA but have also lived in St. Louis, MO and Reston, VA. I work full-time as a Project Manager for a financial institution. My husband and I have three kids! We have two pups that we got through a local rescue organization - Tanner who is our Beagle/Jack Russell mix and Millie who is a Bassett Hound/Beagle/Lab mix. I spend the vast majority of my time reading, working on this blog and memory keeping.

About this book thing ... I've been a huge reader and book lover since I was a little girl. My parents and my grandmother are all big readers so I was around readers pretty much all of my life. My favorite thing to do as a little girl was to go to the library with my mom to pick out the week's books. And I loved spending all day, curled up in a comfy chair and reading a good book. I worked in my middle school library when I was in 8th grade and loved being surrounded by books! My obsession with books and reading has only grown as the years have gone by! I can't resist visiting an independent bookstore whenever I travel. I have stacks and stacks of books in our bedroom. I almost always have a book going on my phone, as well as one on my e-reader and a physical book on my nightstand.

I read a little bit of everything but the genres that I'm most drawn to include literary fiction, romance, historical fiction, women's fiction, YA, mystery and some horror. I also enjoy non-fiction, particularly narrative non-fiction. I'm working on doing a lot of social justice related reading since the 2016 election. And I'm currently obsessed with all things personality so I'm doing a lot of reading about the various personality frameworks.

It's really difficult to pick a favorite boook but it became less difficult when I read Hanya Yanigahara's A Little Life which just blew me away. It jumped right to the top of the list. And  here is my top 3 favorites list ...
